Balancing a Busy Lifestyle and Warm Hospitality
In this Tel Aviv apartment renovation, we created a living space for a couple who leads a demanding daily routine, yet still considers hosting grandchildren, family and friends as their greatest joy. The result is an environment perfectly balancing serene relaxation with vibrant energy. Beyond classic residential functions, we meticulously designed the apartment to address complex daily needs. We tailored the spaces to include a quiet home office, a cozy family area, a fully equipped home gym, and a dedicated, inviting bedroom for the grandchildren. Our primary goal was to craft a home that serves as a calming urban retreat, while seamlessly transforming into a spacious, open entertainment area.
A Public Space Designed to Support an Exceptional Hosting Experience
The apartment's public area was envisioned as a brightly lit, open environment that naturally encourages interaction and a seamless flow of movement. At the center stands a massive, pristine white Bulthaup kitchen, radiating elegance and luxurious minimalism. Adjacent to it, the dining area takes pride in a distinct wooden table, nostalgically brought by the clients from their previous home. Parallel to the dining table we designed a unique transparent glass room which serves as a stunning display cabinet for the homeowners' magnificent dishware collection, transforming it into a captivating focal point. The expansive living room is furnished with high-end Italian design pieces in soft pastel shades, establishing an ideal setting for conversation and relaxation.
Warm Wood, Luminous White and Bold Splashes of Color
At the core of this project is a harmonious material palette. Natural wood takes center stage through the warm parquet flooring and tables, beautifully blending with a dominant white color scheme that enhances the sense of space. Against this clean backdrop the clients very characteristically chose to add bold splashes of color, through contemporary artworks, vibrant knitted poufs, and the unique dish collection. One of the main architectural challenges was maintaining a uniform, minimalist aesthetic in the hallway. To achieve this, we clad the corridor walls in custom, light-colored grooved woodwork. This master carpentry elegantly conceals the entrances to the private quarters, storage cabinets, and climate control systems. Sophisticated glass doors and a striking movable partition by Rimadesio upgrade the entrances to rooms, such as the gym, adding a layer of refined sophistication.
A Spa-Like Atmosphere
The private interior zones were conceived as a personal sanctuary, offering a daily experience of luxury and tranquility. The bathrooms were meticulously designed and clad entirely in a single type of natural stone in a soft, soothing hue. This deliberate choice fosters an exclusive, enveloping spa-like atmosphere. To complete the continuous, minimalist aesthetic, the sinks were custom-built from the exact same stone. Throughout the entire project, from the entryway to the bedrooms, we placed a strong emphasis on the careful curation of ornamental objects and artworks. These elements were thoughtfully selected and strategically positioned to inject character and precisely measured doses of color. They beautifully complement the neutral background, ultimately creating a home perfectly tailored to the lives lived within it.
