Interior Design of a Luxury Penthouse in Haifa
The interior planning and design of this Haifa penthouse focused on adapting the space to the clients' dynamic lifestyle, creating a calm environment for the couple's daily routine, that seamlessly transforms into an open, inviting hosting space for weekend family visits. Through rigorous planning, we established a fluid transition between the private areas and the central hosting spaces, maximizing the natural light and connection to the urban landscape.The project was executed as part of a tenant modification process. A primary challenge in this process was stretching the boundaries of the developer and contractor’s execution capabilities to achieve the desired level of precision, detailing, and overall quality demonstrated in this project’s final result.
A Defined Material Palette and a Smart Architectural Core
The design concept relies on a timeless material palette - a minimalist grey floor serves as a balanced canvas for the impressive custom joinery, which masterfully blends warm natural oak wood with deep, sophisticated black matte finishes. To soften the modern lines and introduce enveloping warmth, flowing curtains and rich textiles were incorporated in the design as well. At the center of the apartment, we engineered a smart architectural core entirely clad in custom woodwork. This focal point cleverly conceals ample storage, features a minimalist designed library and artistic display niches, and incorporates zero-line doors that camouflage transitions into hidden private quarters. Furthermore, a place of honor was dedicated to the homeowner’s passion: a bespoke illuminated bar and transparent wine refrigerators seamlessly integrated into the public space, elevating the entire hosting experience.
Advanced Architectural Lighting and Dramatic Bathrooms
Believing that lighting completely redefines the character of a space, we carefully selected high-end fixtures to create versatile scenarios tailored for various uses. We integrated advanced technical systems for strong, functional floodlighting—ideal for lively gatherings or focused work—alongside impressive decorative fixtures that cast soft ambient light for a relaxed evening mood. This elegant, dark design language flows naturally into the private quarters. The guest restroom and the master en-suite bathroom were crafted in the same sophisticated architectural style. By utilizing dramatic black tile cladding and a precise combination of wood and iron in the custom furniture and mirrors, we delivered a dramatic, yet intimate and luxurious spa experience right at home.
An Open-Air Hosting Experience: From Balcony to Rooftop Pool
Blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living is a signature motif in our work, even when it comes to apartments which are detached from ground level. The main living and dining areas open directly onto an expansive sun balcony with a wonderful urban view, sheltered by a custom pergola and fully equipped for entertaining in the fresh air. Emerging from this balcony is a striking architectural feature of sculptural iron spiral stairs. Serving as a functional piece of art, they add a fascinating geometric dimension to the facade, while guiding guests to another luxurious entertainment level on the upper roof, an exclusive open-air lounge area complete with a refreshing private pool.
